Circle Boring's experience and capabilities at machining for R&D projects has helped many of our customer's ideas become a reality in the market place. We recently received an award from an aerospace manufacturer for the prototype machining we did helping them get a new project developed in time to win a significant contract. The award plaque from them states: "Circle Boring's superior performance, cooperation and workmanship were significant factors in the on-time delivery and overall success of this program." Let us be a part of your next R&D project requiring special machining. |

Pictured to the left is another project in which Circle Boring played a major role in the R&D machining. These components were machined for the "G Zero" experiments done at the University of Illinois by over 80 physicists from around the world. The project was for research on the quark and nucleon particles of the atom. |

Each of these components fit all the way around with less than a .001" gap between any of the mating surfaces. This precision was needed for proper operation of the cryogenically cooled superconductor coils that were placed inside these units. Innovative precision machining methods were used to bring this R&D project to reality. | ![]() |
